The Digital Gallery: Transformations
Transformations is an exhibition exploring how collage, remixing, and recombination can create new meaning. What happens when artists experiment and play with emerging technologies in unexpected ways? Colonial images are used to created a beautiful but sinister virtual experience, everyday objects are brought to life as nervous, jittery creatures, and historical spaces are reimagined through interactive VR technology. Featuring installation and digital works by Warren Armstrong and Susie Williams, Tully Arnot, and Joan Ross, the show will offer an exciting, interactive experience mixing technology and art.
Transformations is the first of two exhibitions curated for The Digital Gallery by media artist, researcher, and educator Dr Josh Harle. He is a Visiting Fellow at UNSW Art and Design, a participating researcher in the China Ethnic Studies Centre, Vienna University, and Director of the Tactical Space Lab, Sydney.
