Kangatraining is a dance based choreographed workout that is perfect for mothers to socialise, exercise without the need to hire a babysitter.
Enjoy all the health benefits without going to the gym. It is safe and a gentle workout that concentrates on re-strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles.
Mothers and babies can start attending class 6-8 weeks after a vaginal delivery and 12 weeks after a caesarean. All mothers need to have completed the postnatal check with a health professional. As babies will spend most of the class in a supportive carrier, mothers can bring their own safe carrier (Manduca or Ergos) for Kangatraining. Manduca carriers can be provided if needed.Mats are provided but mums are welcomed to bring their own.
All kangatrainers are mothers of young children. They are also fully certified having completed a training course, first aid certificate, and exams in postnatal health, anatomy and baby wearing safety.
There are over 100 Kangatrainers in Australia and New Zealand.
Classes are hel in Meeting Room 3 and the Activity Room from 10:15am - 11:30am Fridays (during School Terms).
